The SeeMore Black Broomstick SBC Mallet is a large, heavy, stable putter. It also has one of recent memory’s longest, clearest visual alignment lines. A premium milled feel makes this one of the best-feeling broomstick-style putters on the market.
Introduction
SeeMore’s tagline is that they are the “best kept secret in golf” and what may be the biggest part of their secret is that they offer a broomstick-style putter in their lineup. Across all of the professional golf tours, there is a growing trend toward broomstick putters. Proponents of the style suggest it can help those with the dreaded yips, aid those with disabilities or mobility issues, and offer more consistency in your putting stroke.
To be completely transparent, I do not putt with a broomstick usually. However, I have been curious about the style for years because of all the potential benefits and because trying new things is objectively fun. In the last few months, I have used the SeeMore Black Broomstick SBC Mallet and a handful of other broomsticks to see how it compares to the rest of its peers.
Looks
Looking down on the SeeMore Black Broomstick SBC Mallet, you cannot help but notice what has to be one of the longest alignment lines on a putter. That thick white line is made more prominent by placing it on a matte black head. The head is shaped like a half-moon with a “T” raised up from the rest of the head. Materially speaking, it’s made from milled 6061 aircraft aluminum and features a silver-colored milled stainless steel face insert that’s accented by a red crosshair design on the heel.
That design references one of my favorite aspects of SeeMore putter’s designs, their Rifle Scope Technology. Interestingly, the Rifle Scope Technology is not fully featured on their broomstick models. While the two white lines are visible, there is no red dot present. The sole features SeeMore’s logo and a block of text that reads: “SeeMore Putter Co. Made in USA – SBc20 – Broomstick – 100% Milled.”
The shaft is a simple chrome steel shaft that weighs 220 grams and comes with a split Winn 2-piece grip. I should also note that the putter is also available in a left-handed version and a platinum colorway. The black finish costs $450 whereas the platinum is $400. It also features adjustable weight options on the back of the putter to tweak its feel depending on your specific needs and preferences.
Sound and Feel
The feel of the SeeMore Black Broomstick SBC Mallet is a combination of buttery smooth and extremely sturdy. That duality comes from the sheer weight of the putter. It’s a behemoth – the head weighs in at a whopping 465 grams. As a result, is extremely difficult to twist offline, providing insane levels of stability through impact.
When hit from the center, you’re rewarded with a deep and addictive “PUCK” sound that encourages you to keep putting. If not hit from the center, the sound becomes much higher pitched, and the feel becomes much firmer with a noticeable ringing sound.
Performance
There are many performance-based reasons that players would consider switching to a broomstick-style putter. For me, this experiment is emerging from a pained lower back that is aided by a longer club and a style of putter that is designed to be more upright than normal putters and as a result, cause less arc in my stroke. In those regard, the SeeMore Black Broomstick SBC Mallet was an absolute success.
The broomstick style helped me to be a bit more consistent in giving a straight-back-straight-through style of putt through the weight, length, upright lie angle, and the very long thick white line that contrasts against the dark black head. It also relieved some of the stress on my lower back, allowing me to practice putting for longer durations.
In my practice with the SeeMore Black Broomstick SBC Mallet, I found it to be a two-putt machine. I have yet to have a three-putt with it in my bag after several rounds. I have had jaw-dropping fun by draining several extremely long putts of 20, 30, and even 48 feet. While I had heard from other broomstick users that lag putting may be harder with the longer putter, I found the opposite to be true.
Putts of under 7 feet didn’t feel as easy, though. I tended to pull and miss to the left, but it was hard to tell if this was a problem more with the putter than with me as the user. It feels just as likely this is a problem with the archer instead of the arrow. Making such a drastic adjustment in putting style from conventional to broomstick will be a bit of a learning curve for those like me who are trying it for the first time.
As a player who is extremely new to broomstick-style putting, I wouldn’t always hit the center of the putter face. Often I found myself hitting the putter out on the toe. But I’m happy to say that when I did, I didn’t pay a huge penalty in speed, direction, or speed. Thanks to the SeeMore Black Broomstick SBC Mallet’s high MOI nature, my mishit putts held their line, barely deflecting at all.
Conclusion
Even though broomsticks are growing in popularity for pros and amateurs alike, there are woefully few options out there for golfers to purchase new. If you’re even thinking about switching to a broomstick, the SeeMore Black Broomstick SBC Mallet needs to be an option you seriously consider. Boasting stellar alignment, high MOI, and great feel, SeeMore continues to be a secret that needs to be shared.

Great review. I used the Seemore base model FGP for about 12 years, until 2 years ago (Odyssey), but happily reverted back to the FGP with renewed success. Hey, if Payne Stewart and Zach Johnson can win majors using the FGP…
Because one must order a broomstick to take it for a spin I’ve been less inclined to do so, though your review helps with that consideration. I am aware of. Seemore’s 14-day no questions return policy, so that’s nice. I feel LAB is a leap into the deep end of the pool for a broomstick. Seemore’s aligning features are unique to squaring up to the ball, most of my misses are due to pace or green reading but I’m almost always inside 3-feet to finish the job.
